Mrs. Mueller has been teaching piano for as long as she can remember. She gives lessons in her home, as she has done for many years. She's cut down to four afternoons a week, but enjoys it too much to quit entirely. Her sturdy old piano is the same one she used as a child and loves watching new youngsters get their start on it as she did. She's a good teacher, but allows no goofing off.
Her little students are quite dedicated. They faithfully arrive at her tiny third floor walk-up apartment every week for their lessons, being careful not to mention her outdated furnishings or gawdy carpeting. They learn quickly that a lesson well done is rewarded with a tasty homemade cookie or two.
"The Piano Lesson" comes with Mrs. Mueller, Alexis, her little student, the piano and bench, old round rug, ornate goose neck lamp and several pages of sheet music. Pieces are not attached to each other, so they can be rearranged to your liking. People are not posable. People are made of Prosculpt© polymer clay, with Kato© and Premo© clays used on their clothing and hair. Everything is hand made, with no molds used. They have foil armatures for durability. Additional coloring is done with Genesis© heat set paints. Their clothing is made using my own technique for realistic, fabric-like clothes. Their clay hair is styled to suit each individual.
I designed and made the piano and bench out of balsa wood, then stained and sealed it. The piano keys are polymer clay. The old round rug is made similar to people's clothing. Gooseneck lamp is made from beads and wire. It is not wired for actual lighting. This setting will come with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, in it's own protective sleeve.
Please remember, these are not toys and not intended for children. They are tiny little pieces of sculpted artwork, to be collected and displayed.
