new buildings New construction on Third Street

The little town of Lake Shore is enjoying a building boom! Several new shops were recently built and quickly rented out. Actually, these buildings are on Main Street, at the end of Third Street. Where there previously was an open field, a whole commercial area has sprouted up. Some useful shops for the townsfolk, but nice for the tourists who enjoy the quaint little town too. Larry Shore, the founder of the town, is keeping a close eye on things, to make sure their town doesn't grow too quickly, or in any way that spoils the peacefulness of the area.

At the end of Third Street, where it intersects Main Street, a new professional building sits tucked back in the corner. It houses a few offices and a brand new post office. Everyone in town appreciates the new convenient mailbox too. Next to the professional building is a small pet shop, called Fins and Scales. A few local children are getting look at the window full of lizards and turtles. Next to the pet shop is an upscale ladies dress shop, Lady Jane's on Main. Larry shore wasn't sure this place was a great idea, but the women in town are happy!

main street A bit further down Main Street

A little further along on Main street, after the ladies dress shop, is Luigi's pride and joy, the new little bakery! Almost the busiest little spot in town, second only to Frank 'n Steins Pub. The bakery is small but offers just about any yummy desert or treat you could ask for. Elmer has planted himself on the newly relocated park bench just outside the great smelling little shop. Him and his pigeon friends are enjoying their newest location. The little bakery is tucked in at the end of the street, behind the short stairway leading out of the commercial area. If you go up the little hill, you'll find yourself in a quiet residental area, with a winding path going past several homes and heading toward the city park (eventually, that is, no park there yet).

The bakery isn't completely finished, but Luigi is already making cakes, pies, tortes and whatever else anyone requests. He's patiently waiting for the rest of the shelving and his work tables to be installed, but he couldn't resist an open house to test his creations with the locals. Looks like a pretty popular place, even Larry Shore, town founder, has stopped in to chat and perhaps have a sample or two.

the pub Frank 'n Steins Pub has reopened

The town's favorite hot spot has completed its renovations and has reopened for business. Like most of the town's businesses, it's not big, but small, friendly and cozy. And popular. Great food, cold beer and always some interesting conversation going on.

If you're ever looking for one of the men in town, and aren't sure where to find them, try the pub first and you might save yourself some time! Karl, the manager, pizza maker and bartender all rolled into one, is there to make sure the guys have a great time. He also makes sure things don't get out of hand. Lots of good clean fun can be had in the little pub, like a game of darts, bar dice, or just some good conversation. You can even catch the latest fishing show on the corner tv. Larry Shore can frequently be found here.
